The leaves had a wonderful frolic.
They danced to the wind’s loud song.
They whirled, and they floated, and scampered.
They circled and flew along.
The moon saw the little leaves dancing.
Each looked like a small brown bird.
The man in the moon smiled and listened.
And this is the song he heard.
The North Wind is calling, is calling,
And we must whirl round and round,
And then, when our dancing is ended,
We’ll make a warm quilt for the ground.

A lovely collection of autumn leaves, Monte. We’ve missed most of the sights of fall here in Florida. Very nice!

Thanks, Brooks. We have had some gorgeous colors in the trees this fall. It seems I only look down at all the constantly changing patterns on the ground. You guys have had to suffer with sandy beaches. Now that’s a bummer! 🙂

A beautiful capture of the fallen leaves. Great colors and textures.

Thank you, Karin!

I’m afraid that our leaves here in Charlotte, while beautiful, are doing no dancing. They are pretty much weighted down by all of the rain that we’ve had recently. A nice collection, though. 🙂

We have had a wonderful fall for leaves, colors and patterns. That will change tonight as they are predicting our first measurable snow (3-5 inches). And, along with your rain comes green foliage and I like green foliage. And, along with snow comes colder temperatures. 🙁

Looks like it’s time for mittens and snow pants, Monte. Be stylish! 😀

Lived here a while so I have it all! 🙂

Nice photo and great quote, Monte. The ground is going to need that layer of insulation soon, it appears.

Shore enough! I’m okay with it as it’s gong to be our first of the year. But after that not so much.
