Some friends put on an all things blue party this past weekend. The idea was have a potluck but all the food must have the color or word blue. We were also asked to bring a blue bottle which they will use to border their garden. Quite an assortment was had. Green salads with blueberries, enchilada casserole with blue tortillas, blueberry pie, guacamole with blueberries and mangos (darn good), blue margaritas for those who imbibe, blue cheese stuffed olives, blue cheese dip, blue cheese stuffed deviled eggs and more (they looked nasty but weren’t bad). It was hot until around 6:00 then clouds settled in, a slight breeze arrived and cooled things off. And to top it off, those clouds offered some nice colors as the sun set. A good time was had by all!

What a great idea!

Old friends connect and we get to meet new friends. Strange as I met my financial adviser. 🙂

I love the idea of this, Monte. So what blue did you bring?
Monte Stevens
I brought a blueberry, strawberry and apple pie. For the blue bottle I brought bottle of some sort of sake because the bottle was kool looking.

All that you needed was a little “Blues” in the background as the sun set and the night feel. Ahhhhhh, yeah! 🙂

They did pump some blues music outside for us to enjoy. And, they were using vinyl albums. If they make this an annual thing I’ll be sure and keep those dates open.

And my question is whether anyone brought Blue Nun? Not even sure they make that any more (kinda hoping they don’t!).
Monte Stevens
Yes, there were a few cans of Blue Nun. I tell you, I’m gonna have to make that guacamole with the blueberries.

That sounds like a great way to plan a get together. Maybe they’ll do a different colour theme next time. Now I’m going to go look for a guacamole/blueberry/mango recipe, sounds delicious.
