Two women talk at a table in the back, no masks. A man works on his laptop, his mask sits under his chin. Piped music fills the air. As I observe all this I’m aware of the different experiences between my mornings at a coffee shop and the serenity of my time in nature. I’ve come to prefer the chatter of the magpies, listening to the meadowlarks song, having a conversation with the cottontails and journaling in the natural world. An awareness.

After a necessary trip to our local Lowe’s store today there we were aware of a number of maskless people. Lowe’s has a sign at the entrance saying masks are required and they will provide one at the customer service desk if you don’t have one but I don’t believe they try to enforce the policy. We quickly got what we needed and left. Magpies and meadowlarks any day over people.
There’s a blue theme in this photo. 🙂

My daughter works at Home Depot and they do not enforce the mask requirement. They will serve you no matter what. Totally missed the blue theme in this image. 😁😍
And I forget to include the robins and Canada Geese.

Love the blues. I don’t know what is wrong with people. I do wonder if things would be different if Trump had set a better example. Anyway, I have a March 22 appointment for my first dose vaccine; that was the earliest I could get.

Had mine yesterday morning. My appointment was at 7:00 am. I was leaving at 7:18 am. Simple and quick. Had a sore arm and a bit of a chill late afternoon and evening. Slept well last night and feeling good this morning. I can say the same thing, “What’s wrong with people?” I question those who; drive over the speed limit, texting and driving, eating anchovies, believing lies, spending hours sitting in front of a television, and more. But, I’m aware they may ask the same question about me. Why would Monte want to sit in silence or sit in the cold to watch and photograph a sunrise. Actually this could be fodder for a blog post. Enjoy your Sunday!

Good to read you got your vaccine dose Monte! Your reactions sound fairly typical from what I have read from others. I may be waiting a while and that’s OK. I don’t go many places and would prefer to see those at higher risk get them.
I observe many of the same things you have about masks. I liken it to just what we see in everyday driving, a lot of people do very stupid things. Often they just get away with it, others put other lives in danger. There is no fixing it, fighting it only brings on self-induced stress, and there certainly aren’t enough enforcers to make much of a difference when it comes to the general population.
I like the blue theme in the photo also! 🙂

You’re right on, Mark. I felt the same about letting those who I felt were at higher risk to get the vaccine. I was surprised when contacted to schedule an appointment so I went for it.
I had laugh at myself this past week as I handed out several speeding tickets to people speeding past me. The laughter promptly lowered my stress level. 😁

I often wished I could get paid for mentally flagging stupid drivers. 🙂
