As most of you know I look for images while walking around the areas near my hotels. This is one of the first images after I purchased the G12, number 7 to be exact. It let me know about the capability of the camera but, admittedly, it sure is not the most interesting of subjects and something we see daily. I’ve thought about creating a series of images depicting the abundant amount of trash we see strewn in our world. I don’t care where we go we will find plastic bags, bottles and cans, cigarette butts, parts that fall off our automobiles, and the list goes on. So bear with me as I may be posting a few more trashy images in the future.

A worthy project if you ask me. I look forward to it Monte.

I’ve already been collecting some images, have a silly title for it, so it is in progress.

I totally agree with you feelings on this subject, Monte, but photographing it would depress me. These days it’s become a challenge getting a nature shot that doesn’t have trash in it. More than once I’ve had to “police” an area for trash before taking a photo.

Yes, it is depressing and I see it everyday. I wonder if creating such a gallery of images would influence or change people.

It amazes me too, what is it with people who just throw out whatever they have at hand, let it be a beer can or a sack of garbage. It’s likely not that they don’t care about how it looks around them, but more an attitude that someone else can pick up their garbage. It’s like people host an anger for everybody else.

Ove, you ask a good question. I can remember my younger days when I did not care, when the environment was taken for granted. I’m older now and have a different view of this world.
