panic begins to set in
pure maple syrup
Had fun with this image and haiku. I use the maple syrup to sweeten my Irish Oats.

Monte, well done on both the photo and the haiku! Love that dark surface and the warm bottle reflections.
I so relate. 😉 Recently I’ve been able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings again, and I’ve found I really like using a little maple syrup to sweeten it with. I find coffee and maple syrup flavors to be highly complementary to each other. I closely monitor my inventory of maple syrup. Haha!

Great idea! Totally gonna try the maple syrup in my French press tomorrow morning. The other morning when I saw the amber color of the syrup in the bottom of the bottle it reminded me of the drinking days and an image began to develop in my head. Once I had the image in my head I started to come up some ideas for a haiku. It worked for me.

Great haiku, and lovely photo. I’d love to see a haiku about the panic of the last roll of TP. 😉
I generally don’t keep maple syrup around because I can’t use it fast enough, but it’s hard to beat in oatmeal. Instead, I make a brown sugar simple syrup with good (demerara) brown sugar and use it for anything from old fashioned cocktails to salmon glaze (with an equal amount of brown mustard). I don’t care to sweeten my coffee but it would probably do the job.

Thanks, Tom. I had a friend recommend the maple syrup to me as I had used honey before. I actually like both. Both are natural sweeteners and they both do the job..
