I love nature. I love being in nature, listening to it, smelling it, learning from it. Yet, I spend a lot of time venturing the streets of the city with a camera. Light is what gives our images power. The direction and reflection of light will show us the lines and curves of a building. These lines will hopefully direct the viewer to see, and feel, what we felt at the moment of capture or bring forth whatever feelings from their life’s experiences. Now add a bird against the blue sky and everything changes. But it’s still all about the light.

The bird is free, but he or she is pretty small compared to those corporate structures. Nice photo.

We do see a large contrast. 🙂

Monte, I like the photo, but I’m curious. Did you shoot for the bird or did it happen to fly into the photo. I’ve had unplanned things like that happen which I’ve later discovered added to to the scene.

Nah. I would like to say the bird just showed up on cue but that would be false. I took maybe three images and the bird showed up in one of them. a bonus for me.

Images always seem more spiritual with a bird in them. Well, we are creatures who attach great meanings to symbols. The bird just takes this shot so another level.

Symbols do offer us some powerful emotional connections to images. Just look at the symbols in religions. When I think about it the symbolism between the bird and mans architecture do have quite a contrast.

Hey, you could have used the bird in front of that red barn!
I like the shapes in this one, and like Paul said, the bird adds a nice touch.

Great idea. I never thought of the bird as an added prop in this image but it would work just great. A chicken would have worked. Heck, a chicken and the pitchfork. 🙂
