I’m finding it takes more time to shoot images with this G12 than it does with my D300. It feels so awkward to me. I’m used to raising a camera to my eye, framing and shooting. This was taken on a walk around our hotel in Santa Barbara. Again I do like the quality of the images.

so, what’s slowing you down? I’m curious about the ergonomics and general usability. Certainly not in the market for one, but love to hear feedback. Do tell, my friend! 🙂

So far I wanted to put it up to my eye but I do not like the viewfinder and feel the LCD is the way to go. Exposure compensation is with my left hand on top of the camera where the D300 can be done with the thumb on my right hand. It also feels small in my hands compared to the D300 but that makes it easy to put in my vest pocket. Zooming requires using the forefinger of my right hand rather than my left hand on a lens barrel. And, on the mental side of things I feel like I’ve lost a friend since I’ve not used the D300 in over 2 weeks.

Montr, lovely image quality…and lovely image.
It’s hard to beat Nikon ergonomics and the smaller size doesn’t fit full size hands…even worst on an S90/95. My S90 will never feel as natural as my full size SLR but it has gotten better with some use. It’s all about trade-offs isn’t it?

Yes, it is about trade-offs and we’ll see how time changes things, It usually does.

Beautiful image Monte, and on the gear note that is why I sold the G9 and got a Ep-2. The viewfinder feels a lot more natural to me.

Okay, Ray, I don’t need to spend any more cash. 🙂 I will admit I’ve not shot that much with it yet to really get a feel. It is the only camera I’m taking when I work so it will get some use. Thanks for leaving a comment, I appreciate that.
