Well, so far I am pleased with the Fujifilm XF70-300mm f4.0-5.6 OIS WR. In the reviews I’ve read they talk about the close focusing ability of this lens and I find it to be true. All of these images were taken at 300mm and handheld.
I am noticing quicker battery drainage but that may be caused by shooting more images as I learn, practice and experiment with thisl ens.
This spider is about the size of a quarter. I am about three feet away and maybe could have gotten closer so the close focusing distance is good for me.
Also, all images are cropped to some extent.

Thank you, Faye. Have you made your plans for the trip to the beach, yet? If not, why not?

Well, as a viewer, Monte, I’ve been enjoying the results and the different perspectives of the photos this new and longer lens have allowed you to make. Thumb up from here! 👍
Have a good week.

Thank you for the kind words, Earl. For sure, each lens brings a new perspective for us to explore which can be exciting. I’m learning how and when to use it. There will be more to come. And, since it is rather small it’s not a hassle toting it around with me.

I am actually interested in this lens. I don’t have any longer glass for my Fuji and this might make for a great walking around zoom. I like that it can go to 1:3 magnification also. Looks like some great results you have – consistent with what I have seen elsewhere.

It’s my first longest lens for my Fujifilm gear and probably my only. I owned the Nikon 70-300 mm and liked it. This lens also met my budget requirements. So far I’m pleased with it. Think you would also.
