Welcome to 2020

[ngg src=”galleries” ids=”67″ display=”basic_slideshow”]I was not going to choose and post my 2019 favorites but here it is. My criteria I have used is about the emotion they emit for me: I like them. So, what did my camera find in it’s view finder? I have noticed there are not as many candid portraits in this group but one of them was of Santa and his pickup truck. There are images from a couple of new coffee shops I found. And, of course there are the bus rides, Old Town street scenes and campus images as I used the bus system a lot in 2019. Plants and flowers still catch my eye and of course the sunrises and sunsets from the local nature areas. All the images are local except one from Colorado Springs.

Hope the coming year of 2020 is full of happiness, joy and wonderful adventures.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

I find both serenity and personality in these images and I feel that is compelling in an artist’s work. An interesting year, Monte and I hope 2020 brings much comfort to you and yours. Happy New Year!

Thank you, Joe. Sometimes I don’t feel like an artist, which I think many of us feel at times. Oh, to be like a child in our belief that we are born to be artists. And, I also wish the same for you and your family.

A beautiful crop of images for 2019, Monte. Looking forward to seeing what your lens finds in the new year!

What a nice collection of photos, Monte! I couldn’t begin to choose a favorite.

I know what you mean about not wanting to publish a “greatest hits” gallery, but it is always good to reflect on what we’ve done. If for no other reason than to give us a place to shove off from for the coming year.

You are right. the reflecting back on what we produced is a lesson as well as a reminder of that really did transpire in the year. Looking forward to your images in 2020!

A delightful visual feast Monte. I’d like to echo Joe’s words; I only know you through this blog but these images do indeed, reflect your personality, at least in the way you consistently come across with your openness and sincerity.

All the best Monte. Looking forward to more in this coming year.

Thanks for calling it a visual feast. That phrase was not even on my radar.
I hope you are doing okay over there. I’m not sure how far away the fires are. Please take care.

We’re fine where we are. The fires are mostly down south from here with the worst ones being in the state of Victoria which is around 800 miles away. We do have friends who have had to evacuate their homes which is saddening though, as yet, they haven’t lost their homes. There is little sign of these fires letting up unfortunately so we may be setting new records, just not the kind anyone wants to set. Thanks for thinking of us.

Always loved your coffee shop photos, and of course, you give leaves their proper justice. Thanks for continuing to share these little bits of your daily life.
