This past week I had the chance to meet up with fellow photography Tom Dills and his wife Kathy. They were on vacation, exploring Colorado for the first time. The last part of their itinerary included a few days in Fort Collins. I gladly took them for a short tour of the Colorado Front Range and the eastern plains. Our landscape is very different from the wooded area in North Carolina. We also met for dinner a couple for nights as they explored the town of Fort Collins. We enjoyed dinner at a couple  restaurants in town. They are good people and I enjoyed visiting with them. There were only a couple of times when Tom and I wandered off in our conversation about photography gear and software, leaving Kathy to listening mode.
For some reason I did not take many photos of them. I did get a couple of photos of Tom standing in the road on County Road 90 and standing in the road on County Road 94. May have to get him a reflective vest.
Kathy, well she was hard to pin down for a photo as you see her hiding in the below image.

I’ll tell you. Those two pop up all over the place! Dang! 😀 I’m glad to hear that they got to visit you while in CO. Tom looks pretty serious standing there in the road! But, since I know him, I think that it must have been him squinting in the sun! 🙂
Tom Dills
Squinting into the sun…that’s it! Naturally my camera was pointed in the opposite direction. 😉

Yes, they do spend time on the road. No moss growing under them. They are care free people, open to each day as it comes. I like that.

I have a lot of things on my plate this year, travel wise, and burning through the vacation … I’ll have to put you back into the rotation because I had lots of fun when I visited, too!

I feel the urge to be on tge road myself. Maybe Charlotte.

You’re always welcome here in Charlotte and I live close to the airport and I have a free room with your name on it! C’mon through! We can go to Asheville, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Tom’s house, Charleston, SC, wherever!

Almost makes me want to start packing.

You got some nice shots despite that guy getting the way, Monte! I’ve got my photos downloaded and backed up, but since I have been working all week and catching up on other things I haven’t had a chance to spend much time with them.
Hopefully this weekend I’ll have a chance to see what kind of shots I got.
Thanks again for your company and hospitality. We certainly enjoyed ourselves and hope you did too. Kathy’s a good sport about the photography talk, and usually holds her own as well as most photographers I know!

Kathy’s a keeper! Besides you’ve got too much time (35years) and money invested in her. I enjoyed our time together. I don’t think we actually spent that much time talking photography and she really did join in on the conversation. I’m glad you enjoyed your time in Colorado. We’ll meet up again, eat some more, and take a few more images.
Tom Dills
You got it! 😉

Monte, looks like all had a good time…and some good weather too. Love the late evening light in these photos.

Thanks, Brooks. We scarfed down pizza after we got back to town. It was a good evening.
