I was glad to see them…

This mornings baristas and their smiles – Sure makes the day brighter

I took the bus to campus so I could sit near the gas fireplace in the Legacy Lounge and use their internet. At the bottom of the stairs is a small coffee shop that lickily is still open. I had to laugh at myself and share with them how my mind was wondering if they would be open when I came around the corner. Their business is slow so they they seemed glad to see me. But not as I glad as I was to see them.

Doesn’t look like the First Day of Spring

This was at the bus stop this morning. Sure doesn’t look like spring. Everything is so quiet. The Lory Student Center has been so quiet the past three days I’ve come here. There is no piped music and no students. Not sure how long I will be able to come here as things progress with more reported cases, restrictions and fear.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

It’s great to see those smiling faces, and I’ll bet that coffee and warm fire made for a nice morning. In contrast, Kathy & I washed down the screened porch this morning and are enjoying an 80° day. But we’ll enjoy it while it lasts because we’re supposed to be back in the 50s by Sunday. Sheesh!

Yes, nothing better to start the day than being greeted with a smile. Unfortunately they have closed the campus so I’m now making my French Press at home. I will survive without my coffee shops, and the smiles, but it will be for a limited time. Make sure you have your coats nearby.

My local coffee shop remains open for take out only, so I stopped in this morning and bought two pounds of beans. That should hold me for a couple of weeks at least. I’ve been toying with buying a one cup press just to conserve, we’ll see. He said he was planning to stay open as long as he was permitted to.

Cute smiles and the fireside coffee sounds perfect 🙂 It’s making me look forward to Winter, not that our Winter temperatures justify sitting by a fire 🙂

It is supposed to be a nice day, reaching the low 50’s. Sun is up and a light frost on the windshields. We could see more rain/snow later in the week. My steel oats are almost done cooking and already sipping on a cup of coffee but no fireplace this morning.

Yes, on the welcoming smiles. There are a lot of people suffering because they can’t see those smiles or offer them to others. This physical distancing has taken toll. Hope you and Bonnie have a great day. Now need to catch up on my feeds.
