I got back yesterday evening around 6:30 pm after a long day on the road, almost 12 hours. I drove back through Yellowstone National Park which required me to stop several times for photographs. I enjoyed this trip immensely. I camped two nights a Fremont Lake which gave me plenty of alone time except for the couple hours at the coffee shop writing my last post. I so needed that alone time. The time with Duane and Jan was also exactly what I needed. They kept me busy with things to see and do. I already miss them. I will post images from the trip over the next few days rather than one post with too many photos and words.
My original plans did not have me drive home through the park. Nor, did I expect to drive by Oxbow Bend. Last time I was in this area was 19 years ago. As I reflect on that I realize that was too long ago.

If making it back in one piece is perfect then yes it was a perfect trip. Glad to be home.

You were missed! Can’t wait to see more photos from your trip!

I find interesting that you say I was missed. I was taking trash out today and one of my neighbors, who I do not know by name but talk with all the time, said he missed me and my car. 😂 More photos to come. I promise!

I did enjoy the trip!!! I did more photography than I thought as the downtime was more my focus. The camping was such a solitudinal time for me.

Great story and beautiful photograph of an iconic location. I’ve heard horror stories about the masses of tripods that can plague the foreground at times, but what a lovely view with a clear blue sky. Yowza!

I was unaware that I would be driving by Oxbow Bend. When I realized it I pulled over and shot directly from the road. Off to my right and closer to the river bank are the masses of tripods. I took images images, looked at the people and moved on. For a snap shot it’s a keeper.

I’d keep it if it was mine! And would also have avoided the people. 😉
