It’s a way of life…

Inner peace is more
than a state of mind!
It is a way of life.

Native American

It’s Wednesday evening. I am scheduling this post for just after midnight. It has been snowing all afternoon, a nice silent snowfall that makes it all seem even quieter. I plan on sleeping in late. Have no desire to get up early and drive somewhere so looked in the archives for this image taken last year. If it’s cheating then I’m guilty. At my age I can break the rules.

Had a doctors appointment yesterday because of increased back pain and some loss of feeling in my buttocks. My scoliosis I’ve had for decades is degenerating. X-rays showed bone spurs and the disks are in very poor shape. We will try some anti-inflammatory medicine first and continue my stretching and strengthening exercises. If these do not help then maybe an injection in his office. I’ve lived with it for many years and probably live with it until I die. Could be one of the driving factors where I look for inner peace as a way of life.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

I love the quietness of a snowfall. It feels like everything in the world has stopped for just a moment. And using an archived image is absolutely not cheating. I admit I worry more about not taking fresh images each day than I should. It’s taking the fun out of the camera for me.

Anyway, I hope you’re able to find pain relief. Meanwhile, rest and stay warm.

Thanks for your approval that I’m not cheating, Faye. 😍 Just making the statement about cheating shows I also should on myself too often. Have a great day!

I do like … correction – love – the dampening effect fresh snow has. Those mornings when out walking it feels like you are the only one awake. Good luck with the pain relief Monte – maybe some of those special gummies are in order?

You just reminded me of the crunch sound when walking on fresh powder on a cold winter day. The crunch may be more predominant due to the quiet around me. I may have to change some of my habits and patterns due to this back issue. And, I’ll keep the gummies and Dove’s chocolates nearby.

Snow is becoming a rarity here, it seems. Monte, I hope you find relief from your back pain. The few times I’ve had injuries or pain, I’ve found it can be debilitating; however, the gummies and Dove’s chocolates sound like worthy distractions. Stay warm!

Thanks Earl! The anti-inflammatory medication help a bunch with last nights sleep. It does not cure the problem but helps in managing the pain. And, I also how debilitating pain can be. It’s a brisk 7 degrees this morning. Stay warm!
