For some strange reason when first seeing this photo my mind snapped to “porcupines hiding under the snow” — and not doing a very good job of hiding. 🙂
I guess it’s “what I see” but perhaps I should be worried what it says about me.
Take care, Monte, and I hope your new work area treats you well.

Wow, did I miss these comments, wonder what planet I was visiting. I do see the porcupines hiding in this image now that you brought it to my attention. Others will see them also.
Part of taking care has been to stay off the computer for a while and one reason I’m so far behind in responding to comments and making comments to others.

The photo is a superb complement to the Thoreau quote—one that I cannot be reminded of often enough. The detail in the snow is beautifully captured. And, Earl’s observation provides a great chuckle. All in all, a winner.

Thanks, Anita. I do need to read more to Thoreaus works. Some of his views are similar to mine.

Beautiful photograph. I made one much like that not long ago. Something about dead grasses coming through snow, the shadow and shapes involved make for good imagery.

I agree, David. I actually took these within the city on a wonderfully sunny morning.

I see snow covered porkypines! 🙂 Love the shot, Monte. Uh, oh. Just read Earl’s comment. We are seeing the same things! I wonder what it says about us.

I’m glad you and Earl see those porkypines, cuz I missed them the first time around. And, I think is shows you two have great similarities.
