Most of the images I post are landscapes, still life or street scenes. However, portraits are an interest and something I probably should spend more time doing. Technical skills aside, one of the key attributes of a portrait photographer is that they like people, are curious about their subjects and desire to really connect with them. This is true whether the subject is in the studio or discovered on the street.
Anyway, I would like you to meet Jamie. I met Jamie about 3 years ago when she was working as a flight attendant. We got together a couple of times for photo sessions, one of which is here. She use to be a flight attendant and now is a full time college student. Thanks, Jamie for the opportunity and I wish only the best for you.

Hi, Jamie! Good luck in college. Monte, that’s a nice, relaxed portrait! Keep ’em coming. 🙂

Thanks, Paul.

I find portraits the most difficult part of photography. You want to portray people in the best way possible and you have both yourself and the subject to please. This is very nice, Monte, I’m sure she loves it.

Thanks, Ken. Some people are able to be relaxed in front of the camera, which helps a lot. She is a trooper.
