Last Wednesday morning I drove out to Peralta Trail Road for morning sunrise. Man there is something about being out in the desert before sunrise. On this cold January morning, 27 degrees, it was so quiet and peaceful. Most of the creatures of the desert were huddle up somewhere staying warm. Very few birds out so no morning songs. Just quiet. Ever notice there are more stars in the desert. 🙂
I’m off on another trip this morning. See ya in four days.

Man! It’s been a long while since I’ve been up and out at that time! Yes. That is beautiful. I’d love to find a place nearby that didn’t have light pollution, but alas, the trade offs of life in the big city! 🙂

It does require an effort to crawl out from under the covers to meet that sun at horizon and I seem to do that less often. I feel sadness sometimes when those stars cannot be seen by so many people but that’s just me.

Nice image! I had hoped to get out before sunrise this weekend, but I’m a little under the weather….maybe next week.

Monte, great image, truly. I applaud your urge to get up and out. I wish I had more of the dedication.

Thanks, Chris. I have always been an early riser but that also means I crash pretty early. This old man does not stay up late.

Great photo, Monte. Way to motivate yourself to get out and get it.

Very nice image, Monte. So, when do you sleep?
Monte Stevens
I’m an early to bed person and usually rise early. So 7-8 hours of sleep works. And, if needed a 30 minute power nap helps.
