The way we treat the body of creation is, in the end, the way we treat the body of humanity.

I easily want to attribute this scene found near campus to college students , and I may be correct in that assumption, but that isn’t always the case. However, I would suggest a lack of maturity is probably behind this scenes rather than pointing to any specific group. I admit my lack of maturity at 25 allowed me to partake in shenanigans, such as tossing beer cans out the car window. This photo is a good demonstration of how we treat creation when it is seen as only an object. It’s not a pretty image and has me asking the question, how do I/we treat the body of humanity?

Very sad. I also would have to admit that in my youth, I’d probably not have given a second thought about seeing this sort of thing. This could be the cover shot for a book titled “What the hell is wrong with you?” Sigh.

Your book title made me laugh. Actually, it does offer up an idea of a photo book of just images, no words, depicting our disrespect for nature, even mocking it. Hummmm!

I think I want a t-shirt with that book title. 😀

I’d buy one! 😀

Well, except for the fact that it probably isn’t healthy for the plant, it is probably better than throwing them in the yard or on the roadside. I just hope that whoever emptied all those cans had plenty of help!

I also wondered how much damage those cans did to the plant. This morning when I walked to the coffee shop they were gone. .
