Love my crockpot

Goose feather with morning frost

I found feathers strewn all over the back side of the bus stop this morning. Looks like a goose fight or a hawk may have found a feast. I was taken by the small frost crystals on the feather and knelt down to take this image. We will be seeing fewer mornings with frost over the next month or so. We reached 68 degrees today so it was a beautiful Colorado day.

Give you an update on my simple surgery. To fix the ventral hernia they increased the length of the scar from my heart surgery. Hurts me to laugh and cough. Have not sneezed yet nor wanting to. I did not sleep well both Tuesday and Wednesday nights due to pain and discomfort. Slept much better last night and today was much better. Before I left for the bus this morning I put on a crockpot of sausage and vegetable soup, which I enjoyed this evening.  Love my crockpot!

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

Take it easy and here’s hoping the pain from your hernia repair will be brief. I’m a fan of the ease of slow cookers as well. Have a good weekend, Monte.

I suppose what you had was a very scaled down version of the original incision, and that can’t be fun. I’ll try not to make you laugh. 😉

Kathy and I get a lot of use from our crock pot, but need to use it more. We’ve been interested lately in the so-called instant pots but are wary of “another unused kitchen gadget.” We’ve avoided things like a bread maker or rice steamer but have a few too many examples of good ideas that never seemed to pan out.

I’ve been watching your temperatures out there. I can’t imagine that you’re done with winter but the 60s have to feel pretty good!

It is already 65 degrees so its going to be a beautiful day. I relate to having too many appliances and a few other things, including camera gear. Sure feel less pain today but I’m really tired. I took a short walk with Mike Mike this morning and will relax awhile.

Two years ago I was given one of those trendy InstantPots for Christmas. As a traditional cook I sneered at it for a while before giving it a go. Gotta admit it makes some really fine soup.
Hope all goes well for you health-wise, Monte!

I probably wouldn’t own one of those unless it was a gift. I have cooked roasts, make pulled pork BBQ and pork tenderloin in my crockpot. I primarily use my crockpot for soups which is its specialty.
