I’ve been playing around with with this Nikon 50 mm f1.4G AF-S lens and I do love the shallow depth of field and bokeh this lens offers. It just adds another tool to the arsenal in my bag. I’m starting to use it more.

Who says everything has to be sharp for it to be in focus? Very nice bokeh, indeed.

They lied, Tom. Well, unless it is a large format landscape photographer then I agree, have it in focus.

Yep! I love that thin slice of focus, sometimes!

Its how we use it that’s important.

That is a beautiful lens and it focuses relatively close, enhancing the bokeh effect.

So, now I need to come up with ideas to use with it. I can do that.

I am a big fan of images taken on f1.4. Although I do admit that it can be difficult to conceptualize photos with such lenses because they see so differently than our own eyes do.

There is a place and time for them. Having one this fast is new for me so I want to play with it and learn what all I can do with. It may be used more indoor, low light images.
