Maybe love is the answer

Not sure what type of mushroom this is but I ain’t gonna eat it.

“Hope is not about proving anything. It’s about choosing to believe this one thing, that love is bigger than any grim, bleak shit anyone can throw at us.”

Anne Lamott, Plan B: Further Thoughts on Faith

Each day I move towards believing this at deeper and deeper levels. Hatred and violence just are not the answers. Let’s try living the idea that love is the answer. Not just talk about it but truly love! It means learning how to open our hands and offer love to others.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

Anne Lamott is great. Love her writing as sometimes her poetic phrasing comes to an abrupt halt in sentences like this. Lennon and McCartney had it right.

She has a great way of presenting those punchlines that we need to hear. There are many who offer that message but are not heard. However, it is our task to continue to pass that on by how we live. I fail quite often but I continue to get back up.

I recently came across this quote, attributed to Jimi Hendrix, which seems appropriate here:

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.”

Yes, love is the answer, but only if we are asking the right questions.
