My theme for this post is blue. What a beautiful day it was yesterday after the light snow. Even though we had clear skies and sunshine it stayed cold, never getting above freezing. Just loved that blue sky. Both of these images are from an hour at Pineridge Natural Area in the afternoon. It was cold enough I had it pretty much to myself and quiet.
The one drawback in the bottom image is the smog along the horizon, which is the I-25 corridor. This image reminded me of how clear the skies were in early 2020 when the pandemic shut so much down. Deep inside me is the wish we could have everything shut down again. Say a couple centuries to clear up the air. Just a thought or wish. The quality time I spent in the local natural areas was so sweet… And, I want to believe nature enjoyed it also. Sigh!

I am sure that nature appreciates being appreciated! Beautiful clear, blue skies you have. My sky is currently filled with clouds, but mild temps in the 50s. Enjoy your Friday!

Glad we agree on how nature thinks. 😂 This morning is mostly clear so we do have warm sunshine. My journaling time at the coffee shop was soaked in the warm sunshine. Good way to start my Friday. Enjoy your day!

You have some beautiful blue skies out there, especially when the air is crispy cold. I remember when I was learning to fly small airplanes that the layer of haze on the horizon was surprising. And that was over 30 years ago.
There were some definite advantages to the shutdown, but overall the effect is one we’ll be recovering from for a long time.

It has affected and changed my thinking and how I used to live my life. I discovered just how dependant I am on so many things that are out of my control (and in the control of others). What was important to me previously is not and important to me now. Not sure I will ever want to live my life as I did before. How I see the world and my values have shifted over the past two years. This is just me and still working through all of it. I really need to journal on this more. Thanks, my friend!!

That’s a gorgeous blue in those skies! We’re expecting a big snow tomorrow, not sure I welcome it though.

We had another day of bright blue skies. Love these days. Strange how I like and dislike snow. It can be beautiful and a mess afterwards. It would be interesting to know what you have to say about your first winter in Maine.
