New Fountain Pen

Monteverde Prima in blue marble
Monteverde Prima in blue marble

I was gifted a beautiful fountain pen from a good friend, a Monteverde Prima. It is a physically bigger pen than I’m used to writing with so it’s a slightly different experience. However, I’m enjoying the experience. It had a #6 broad nib which puts down a wider line than I prefer. I put a #6 fine nib from Nemosine and find that to be more to my liking. I love the blue marble color. Each pen will have its own unique marbling to it. There is just enough sparkle for me to enjoy.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

Another beautiful pen Monte. You may have mentioned this before but how many do you have in your collection now?

Well, I had to count them. I have 23 at the present. I have purchased 10 of them the rest have been gifted to me or loaned for me to try. That is a much better way to see if I like a pen rather than spend the money and not like it. It is the same with inks. I have bought 2ml vials of ink samples to see which ones I like. It’s interesting how inks vary in colors, hue, saturation, flow, feathering and bleed through. The more I delve into this passion (addiction) the more I find how one ink will work better in certain pens. 🙂

Very nice shade of blue – it almost matches the ink, at least in the photo. I love how you are able to customize them to your own preference and style so that you can express yourself both with the pen itself and what you write with it.

So very true. I have two fountain pen buddies, my sister and my friend Larry. We share pens and inks and papers. I use to journal with Moleskin journals but have switched to Leuchtturn1917 journals. These journals are about an half inch wider, have about 40 more pages and the paper is 80lb. This heavier paper reduces feathering and bleed through. Yes, I have a blue ink that matches nicely but due to the random color in the acrylic I could use various colors of blue.
