New Journal Today

Thirty degrees and overcast skies. They finally cleaned the parking lot yesterday, so I found my car. One of the hazards of having a white car in Colorado. Wanted to catch the bus but the city plows covered the sidewalk making it almost impossible to reach the bus stop. Opted instead to drive to the Bean Cycle.

I was taken back by how much tree damage this storm brought on. The tree trimmers are going to be busy over the next couple weeks. There are piles of snow everywhere, tree branches scattered everywhere. Front End loaders and dump trucks are busy hauling it somewhere. I had the coffee shop pretty much to myself. So, it was a mocha latte, some easy listening jazz and journaling time for myself. Started a new journal today. ❤️Got a haircut on the way home so I’m looking dapper again. 😁

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

That was quick work on rescuing the car but I’m glad you were able to retrieve it! The heavy snow of a late season storm often wreaks havoc on our trees because they seem to happen just as the leaves are coming out. So far, so good here.

Kathy & I have traded our haircut appointments for vaccine appointments this coming Friday, so we’ll be shaggy for another week but it will be worth it. Our group started eligibility today and with good timing we lucked into appointments at the same time and place. It will mean a bit of a road trip for us but that’s not something we mind! Details to follow, hopefully we’ll get in some photography along the way. 🙂

I had not been in my car since last Friday. Most of these firms that plow snow were recruited by the city so we all had delays. Our trees only had buds on them, no leaves yet.

Glad you are scheduled and hope there are no side effects. I experienced mine on the first shot, nothing on the second. Keep us informed. There is a relief to have them done.

i believe your photograph is one of deception – warm and inviting – quite the opposite of what you describe going on outdoors. 🙂

Yes, the warmth of the coffee shop, the latte, all separated me from the chaos the storm brought to the area. I was able to see even more damage yesterday and this morning where trees of 12″ in diameter were split down the middle or snapped in two. And, more snow predicted in a couple of days. We’ll send it your way, shortly!

Love the blue of that coffee cup! I had to laugh as I thought of those generational centennials and millennials who would probably need to look-up to confirm their definition of the word, “dapper.” 🙂

I’ve found that a warm, comfortable coffee shop, even in San Diego, is something special. We have one in walking distance and treasure it.

There is an ambiance in each one I go to. That has even been true for corporate coffee shops. The baristas, the customers and the look of the shop all give it that certain feel, its own feng shui.
