No Game Today

Roland Moore Park

It”s Sunday morning so I spent my morning in the Cathedral of Nature. There was a special winter storm program going on and I didn’t want to miss it. The snow starting falling last night around midnight and is expected to continue all through the day. With these conditions who wouldn’t want to be out there exploring it. Before I’d gone far I noticed the basketball courts in the park and stopped to grab a shot. No games today. My next stop was the Arapahoe Bend Nature Area. About the time I arrived the wind had picked up so I was not able to stay our there as long as I wanted. It is so quiet during a snow storm. Birds are not singing but nestled against the wind and snow. And, that quiet is meditative and soothing. Now it may be a soup day and a good book.

As per Paul’s suggestion here is a square crop of the tree. I do like it better.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

Monte: I love these winter shots. And you’re correct – who wouldn’t want to be out exploring, well, except those who are not stalwart photographers who use every opportunity to explore. 😀 I really like the basketball court, but love the second image. Beautiful. Heck, I might even like it more if it were cropped square. 😉

As the wise Paul Lester has pointed out, cropping the second image as a square, or close too that, does make for a better image. So, I added it at the end. Thanks Paul!

Monte, I’ve been a little distracted the last few weeks but have enjoyed catching up with your adventures.

I think that third photo is just spectacular. In fact I didn’t even connect it to the original until I read the text. Very nice. That would make a nice print, I think. That crop makes all the difference, and we already know that Paul has a pretty good eye! 🙂
