Now that I don’t drink, I very seldom patronize bars thus eliminating hangovers and memory loss. However, after a nice BBQ dinner with my crew we walked next door to a bar to quench the thirst for those desiring one of those brews. The place was empty except for one lone patron sitting alone at the bar. After pulling together a couple of the half dozen empty tables and chairs, we chose a few songs on the jukebox and pitchers of beer were ordered. On one side of the bar was a side room with wood paneled walls surrounding a well used pool table. The photographers eye within me was immediately drawn to the light filling this room. The light was from one wall which was all windows. On the opposite wall hung a rack holding an assortment of cue sticks of varying weight and length. My mind was off and running as I grabbed cues sticks and balls. With camera in hand I walked around the table taking all the “shots” I wanted. And, without a hangover.

So, is the number 15 significant or simply a random choice? 🙂
Monte Stevens
Random. I grabbed a couple of balls and placed them on on the table. I could have looked for the 8 ball but 15 worked fine. 🙂 I can’t hit either one of them, anyway.

You made wonderful use of that directional light. Wow! All that fun, something special to show for it, and no hangover.

It was my time. That’s really what photography adds to my life, is me time.

Monte, I love your gift for making art out of the everyday ordinary things that most of us don’t even notice.

Thanks, Paul. As photographers we all are learning to see.

Great post, my friend–my kind of shots. Have a great rest of the week.

Thanks, Mary Ann.

A steady hand and a clear head lacking a hangover beats everything!
Monte Stevens
A good choice of words “clear head.”

Isn’t this a great example of what odd-balls we are, instead of hanging with the others over the bar, we walk into the room next door, taking in the scene and making a few shots. #15 is you. 🙂
Monte Stevens
Thanks, Ove! And, to some we are odd-balls but we’re “cool odd-balls.”
Ove
Ha ha, I think I need a rangefinder or twin-lens slr to really get cool… But it’s cool to be passionate over something, many are not.
