“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is the time of the year when mornings begin to get cooler and afternoons stay hot. We call it fall. Met with a friend this morning at Pineridge Natural Area to watch the sunrise and sip on our chai lattes. We wore jackets. Made a crockpot of vegetable soup this morning before I left the condo and shared that with another friend at noon. When it reached 92 I decide it was time to visit Reservoir Ridge Natural Area. Without a jacket. As I took it all in, nature provided a nice wind to bring relief from the heat and provided some soothing sounds and sights for me to enjoy. A blue jay squawks from the cottonwoods behind me. A starburst shoots through the trees. I’m noticing leaves beginning to change colors. A hawk circles above. Clouds lazily drift overhead. Soon the sun dropped behind the mountains and I felt the coolness of the air. As this busy day comes to a close I reflect on both the good choices and poor choices I made today. And, I smile because there is a peace within. ❤️

Are there really “poor” choices? Maybe, but something caused you to make the choice you did, and perhaps the reason is not yet known. Unless it’s chocolate, then we know…. 😉
Fall is certainly in the air, and quite noticeable as we traverse New England. It’s still seasonably humid but feeling chillier the farther north we get.

We have reached the time of year when, pretty consistently, the highs are low 70s and the lows are high 40s. Perfect for me. 🙂

That is true for us at the present time. This is one of my favorite times of the year. However, I will struggle with the transition to the colder temperatures.

Yes, on the chocolate! Poor may have a poor choice of words. 😂
It was 46 degrees morning. We’re already up to 52 degrees and an expected high of only 70 degrees. Feeling of fall.

The morning light jacket is a personal symbol for me that the wait for the best time of year is over! It is kind of hit and miss here right now, and we still have mosquitoes, so – not quite there yet.
Unfortunately, it is also the mosquitoes that only care what “lies within us” as well. 😉

I’m wearing my jacket again this morning. Just saw where Berthoud Pass had a low of 18 degrees while it was 43 degrees here.
Yes, those mosquitoes only care about what lies within. Thanks for the laugh!
