Seeing the World

Allow yourself to be like a child, seeing the world through fresh eyes. Instead of trying to control life by making sense of it, embrace ambiguity and paradox as being the domain of the truest things.

Mirabai Starr

I’ve come to realize we can only experience the world when we are a part of it. Seeing it with fresh eyes. Feeling the cold. Listening to the silence. Smelling the tangy fragrance of pine. Watching the clouds constantly change shape. Realizing how a small a part we are within the cosmos. So, even at my age I desire to be childlike but not childish, seeing the world with fresh eyes, embracing ambiguity and paradoxes and letting go of the need to know the answers!

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

I sometimes wonder what is real and what are our perceptions based on our experience and knowledge. Given the same object or scene, a group of photographers will often see and photograph something, each slightly different. I wonder if there is a sense or rhyme to the universe presenting differently to each of us. Wild thoughts….. Haha!

    Lovely photo.

I have those same thoughts, Earl. Probably beyond my comprehension. I have found it enlightening to see how others see, broadening my views and perspectives. And, almost always helping me find new questions to aks.

Gentlemen, I am still having difficulty letting go my need to “know the answers” and learning to quiet my mind and body enough to even hear the questions to ask. You are helping me to find that path, thank you. And Monte, your GLORIOUS photography takes me to that lovely place of just being. Thank you. Blessings, g.

Glad we can inspire some people with our craft of photography and words. Walking our path is an adventure. It is wonderful to have others on the path with us! Glad you are here!!!
