This was taken on Christmas day and is what one flight crew member looked like when they wish they were home with their wives and children for the holiday.

I don’t believe I would like being stuck in an airport over the holiday season. Seems rather lonely.

Actually, we were sitting outside of a Thai restaurant, waiting for it to open for lunch. It was about all that open on a Christmas day. We had walked over from our hotel and sitting outside waiting. Yes, it does speak of loneliness.

Excellent portrait Monte. Black and white was the perfect choice.

Thanks, Paul!

Very good portrait, Monte. He’s definitely got the 1,000-yard start going on and is anywhere but ‘here’.

He has a family so I imagine that’s where he went for a while. After he returned we went inside and had a great meal with plenty of laughter. We all made all that we could.

Great story-telling. The expression, lighting, and beautiful tones all bring this to life.

Thanks, Anita. I wish he could have been home with his family.

You knocked this one dead Monte! The expression tells it all.

Thanks, Steve.

Clearly a case where a picture is worth a thousand words and the feeling of wanting to be somewhere else comes across loud and clear. Nice work, Monte.

Yes, we were cold, hungry and mentally somewhere else.

I’ve been very busy and haven’t been browsing blogs very much for a while. I haven’t stopped by here for a week or two, but it was fun to roll through your various posts. I like some of the quotes and am always intrigued to find and enjoy your new images, Monte. This current one is superb. People photography is often about capturing a mood and you did it here no doubt.

Thanks, David and so glad you stopped by again. You are always welcome.
