The moment one gives close attention to anything,

even a blade of grass,it becomes a mysterious,
awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.

Wonders and Realities
The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us the less taste we shall have for the destruction of our race. Wonder and humility are wholesome emotions, and they do not exist side by side with a lust for destruction.
Rachel Carson, The Sense of WonderWhen you first look at this image you will see three mushrooms in the grass. But If you look closely (enlarge the image if you need to) you will see the wonders and realities of this world on many of the blades of grass where a tiny single dew drop clings to its tip. Yes, wonders and realities!

Dewdrop at Sunrise
“We betray our true self, when we do not follow the hearts desire, for what the heart is attracted to, is your destiny.”
Took this image back in 2003, again just after purchasing my D100 and Sigma 105 macro lens. It is one of my favorite images for a couple reasons. One, it was a fluke as I really did not know what I was doing. I remember laying down in the wet grass and shooting without a tripod. I also only have it in JPEG format as shooting in raw was foreign to me. If you look closely you will see the sunrise upside down in the dew drop. Second, I was in the early discovery of a passion that has allowed me to see and experience life with new eyes and that includes all aspects of my life. As the quote states we must pursue what our heart is attracted to.

One more …
… well actually two more dewdrops. I found these two hanging on after a night of rain. Just after I took this image the dewdrop in the background fell to the ground. If you look closely in the front dewdrop you can see yours truly, kneeling on the ground with wet and muddy pants. 🙂 There was no way for me to get a sharper image than this as the wind was making the blade of grass sway constantly.

Morning Dew
Yesterday morning I arrived at Blendon Woods Metro Park just as they opened the gates so I pretty much had the park to myself, everyone else was in bed or the shower. The morning dew had done its work of art so it was my pleasure to find a few images to add to my library.

Morning Dewdrop
I found this dewdrop on the blade of grass while walking around the apartments a couple of days ago. at first I did not like the flower in the background but after looking at it awhile I sort of like it. What do you think?
