    A Love Affair

    I’m having a love affair with my coffee life.

    I was awakened during the night by rain gushing down the rain gutter outside my window. It sounded like a river but we only received about a quarter of an inch. This morning it is still overcast, looks threatening, and more rain is possible. The high today is only expected to reach 56 degrees so about 20 degrees cooler today. Tomorrow is expected to be the same so I have makings for cream of chicken noodle soup for the crockpot in the morning. It does not feel like June which made my Old Town Mocha seem like just the right medicine I needed. Thank you Dean!!

    A Walk Down the Alley

    Photography is the easiest art, which perhaps makes it the hardest.

    There is some amazing hidden artwork in the alleys of Old Town Fort Collins. Every so often I enjoy taking my camera down these alleys and see what images I might discover. My camera does not have to stop and pee or sniff like a dog would which makes it easy. My light on this day was soft diffused light from overcast skies. I am learning to stand before scenes like this with awe. At first I was drawn to the colors, but after a while, the intricacy of all the lines pulledme into it. I’m glad I took a walk down the alley. We awoke to a couple inches of snow and it still snowing. Again, it looks like everyone is dealing with winter conditions. Stay warm and enjoy your day!

    It is another cold and overcast day. The wind has picked up which adds to the cold. I have no desire to be outside but want to stay curled up in my chair, wrapped in my blanket, reading and journaling with my companions. My FPOTD Fountain Pen of the Day is a Brown-marbled Pelikan M200 filled with Pelikan Smoky Quartz ink (and words). Life is good! Stay warm!

    Overcast Saturday Morning

    Took the early bus to the Transit Center then walked to Mugs coffee shop. Now have my mocha and listening to some 50-60’s music on the speakers. Watching the baristas dancing as they cook and steam milk. Even saw a couple of customers dancing to the tunes as they walked in. Have no real plans for today. Meeting a friend at 1:00 and the rest of the day will be writing and working on a photo project I’ve started. This past couple months I have started making Irish Oats or Steel Cut oats for breakfast. I add pecans or a tablespoon of peanut butter with some fresh fruits. This morning it was peanut butter with sliced strawberries. Helps start the day on a better note. Image is one of the cottonwood trees from the Arapaho Bend Natural Area, taken last week, and converted to black and white. Have a wonderful weekend!
