All Giddy
“The sun shines not on us but in us.”
John MuirFall colors are vibrant now. Gold and yellow the predominant colors for Colorado. I love the contrast between the gold and blues, makes things seem to pop. Then add some lovely sunshine and I get all giddy inside. 😊

Almost Perfect
“People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.”
Winnie-the-PoohWe all have certain subjects we gravitate towards. I find my archives to have primarily images of wide open horizons with clouds, trees, fields of grass, open meadows, sunshine and the shadows it spreads around. This was taken last week on an afternoon drive outside the city. This morning I sit on my porch typing this post. Clear skies, sunshine and around 50 degrees. The birds are singing their songs of joy. Almost perfect.
Or maybe they are singing because it’s Ruth’s birthday. Happy Birthday Ruth!

Busy Sunday

walk in the gardenIt is cloudy and overcast this morning but still warm. Rain is possible later and welcomed. Have a rather busy Sunday which will help keep me out of trouble. This image is from Friday mornings walk at The Gardens on Spring Creek. Have a great Sunday!

Bring it on!
“Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.”
Awoke today with overcast skies and a light drizzle, the kind of rain a gardener would love. This image is from earlier in the week when we had a cloudless afternoon sky. It’s getting darker, an ominous feel, hearing a rumble of thunder every now and then so expect it to rain. I say bring it on! Think I’ll just sit on the covered porch and read.

Nothing on the calendar
What a beautiful day here in Colorado. Blue skies and sunshine. I took an early morning walk at one the nature areas. I have nothing on my calendar so now resting before taking a couple naps this afternoon.

Basking in the Sun
A couple days ago I came upon this young lady sitting outside one of the classrooms on campus, basking in the warm sun. We have had blue skies and warm sunshine but cold nights, temperatures dropping below 20 at night. However, this weekend is predicted to be much warmer. Looking forward to it. Enjoy your weekend.

T’is a Cold Morning

Sunrise at 3 degrees along Spring Creek Trail … here in Colorado. They are forecasting temperatures not to rise above 32 degrees F until Saturday. Night time temperatures down around zero. I saw this scene as I headed for the coffee shop. It does not totally depict just how cold it felt. However, Colorado winters have a plus side in that the sun will melt the snow and ice even when we are below freezing temperatures. Stay warm!

Happy Birthday, Chris
A daughter is one of the most beautiful gifts this world has to give.
Laurel AthertonIt is beautiful but cold down here and for those who are residents, it is real cold. I went for a walk Sunday afternoon with bright sunshine but into a slight breeze from the west. Let me tell you that breeze was chilly. Been here a week and enjoying the time with my parents, having them all to myself. But, this time with them brings the awareness of their increased years. Spending time with them is precious to me.
Also, today is my oldest daughter, Christine’s, birthday. As each birthday celebration of my children or grandchildren comes along it brings an awareness of their aging and mine. The number of years is irrelevant as life is moving way too fast. Time with them is special and sometimes seems like there is not enough. Anyway, Happy Birthday, Chris! You are a star! I love you!
