coffee life,  coffee shops,  Food,  lifestyles

Thank you Alyssa!

To continue with the coffee shop theme from yesterday’s post I thought I’d mention one other factor that entices me to coffee shops. At most of the shops I patronize there is usually some pastry, breakfast sandwich or breakfast burrito as part of their menu. Almost every morning the Starry Night Espresso Cafe has a tray of freshly made scones on the counter. The aroma from these fresh out of the oven lemon cranberry scones filled my nostrils as soon as I walked in. They place them on the counter right in front of you so when you order you have no choice but to make eye contact with them. (Yes, they do stare.) And, they’re warm enough you can watch the icing dribble down the sides! Yes, there are other factors to my coffee shop excursions besides a mocha latte. Thank you Alyssa for baking the scones and making my mocha latte this morning!

I love scones, and lemon-cranberry sounds delicious. I’m pretty sure they know what they’re doing with their placement on the counter. LOL 🤔

We’ve got light snow on the ground here (just after I said I thought snow was a thing of the past around here), and there’s sleet mixed with freezing rain due for most of the day.

Have a good day, and stay safe!

I saw where you had snow. Faye posted a few images on her blog this morning. Driving in icy road conditions can be difficult for those who do not experience is often. I’m meeting my youngest daughter for brunch this morning then having pizza later this afternoon with a friend at her house. Going out in public to eat is not something I want to do on a regular basis. So we order the pizza. 😂 No anchovies!!! Stay safe and warm, my friend!

And, I think I’m falling in love with Alyssa and Sierra!

I am going to voice the rare disagreement with Sir Earl.

Not a fan of the scone – to me they taste a bit like flavored cardboard. And I’ve been told “that is just because you haven’t had a good one” – but when I was given a “good one” – it tasted the same as my original assessment.

      So bah to scones. 🙂

Well, I had one of the lemon cranberry a week ago and yes it were good. Today Sierra made chocolate chip chia scones and forced me to try one. Dang, it was good. Impulse? Nah!
