We had Thanksgiving yesterday at my oldest daughter and her husbands new home. I say new but what they purchased was an old country school house built in 1926. They have started converting into a home, all 6500 square feet of it. What a project but one they are looking forward to. They have already had the hardwood floors worked on and the contractor did an awesome job. This image was shot through the trees of the playground and facing west. Oh, and dinner was awesome. After grazing on appetizers I still managed to eat a plate full of turkey and yams and green beans. Even indulged in a piece of pecan pie. I hate when I eat too much.

Sounds like a great way to spend the day, Monte. And capping it off with pecan pie is never a bad way to end a meal!

I usually indulge in one piece a year, so my quota is done for 2013.

Pecan pie… yum!
Sounds like it will be a massive home though hopefully not an equally massive renovation. In any case it sounds like a contender for a show called “Grand Design”. I don’t know if you have such a series in the States but it’s where they show major renovations or building of interesting homes. It’s a favourite of mine.

I’ve never heard of “Grand Design” but I think they have shows like that over here. I’m not young enough to take on this massive a project. But, my son-in-law is jumping right in.

Man, this shot just feels like November to me.

It was cold but not as cold as this past week. Today was the first day where we had high temperatures above single digits since last Wednesday. It’s been frigid. Tonight will be another night below zero but should see temperatures back to a more normal range the rest of the week. 25 sounds pretty good to me now. 🙂

That sounds like a great Thanksgiving, Monte. I’d love to see some shots of the interior. That’s quite amazing, to me, a 6,500 sf home built from an old school house.

The kids are going before and after shots. It may be a good idea if I start doing those for them.
