That Time of the Year

Falling Leaves on the Atrium
Falling Leaves on the Atrium

There is an atrium at Colorado State University’s Morgan Library. I find this area a wonderful place for students, and ex-students, to hang out and study while sipping on a coffee. There is no piped in music so it is quiet and peaceful. As I write this post the leaves are fluttering like snowflakes all around me. This is a favorite time of the year for me as the temperatures are enjoyable, both night and day. But, it also is a reminder that real snowflakes will be arriving sooner than I want.

There is a coffee shop just inside the library called Morgan’s Grind. They have a decent cup of coffee, as well as lattes, both at very reasonable prices. The shop must have 15 tables and each will have at least one student camped with books and laptop. Now if you show up at 7:00 am when they open, you can have your pick of tables. No students will be found at that early. Along the east window is a bar for students to study or  read the campus newspaper.

Anyway it’s that time of year!

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

Ah, yes. Autumn is in the air. A few leaves have started falling around here, but the rain has certainly arrived.

That bar looks like a great place to sit. I wonder why the coffee shop is open so early. No way that there will be students lurking around at that time. 🙂

Ahhh, sounds like my kind of place. I generally like a little background music as long as it is instrumental. Sometimes no music is even better.

As Paul said, lots of signs of fall around here, including cool damp weather and lots of drizzle. Seems like it came quickly. So far we’ve avoided turning on the heat but have “made sure the gas logs work!”

Where we are parked now every time I go out to the truck I have to clear the dry autumn leaves off from out of the windshield wiper channel. It’s a wonderful time of year…even if it rains…which it did this morning.

I think I would prefer the earlier, less crowded time. 🙂
