When I wait and look and listen I make different photographs than when I scurry around looking and searching with a proactive approach. – Brooks Jensen

Interesting. I recently read Kevin Raber’s reflection on Michael Reichmann on Luminous Landscape. Seems they had opposite approaches from one another, and Michael always had the car keys. As you do, I think it is always preferable to know a place and take the photo when it is offered, as opposed to “scurrying around” as Brooks says. I note that he says “different” and not “better,” but what I know of Brooks is that he probably does not do a lot of “scurrying.”

I do scurry once in awhile, getting ahead of myself. I will never know what images were missed or different images because of that, nor do I worry about it. There’s too much enjoyment of being there. 🙂 My state of mind and heart are major influences on what I see and am aware of.
