I noticed this red barn while driving back into town and had to stop. No place to pull over so I parked half way in the ditch and half way on the road. It was only after I did my post processing that I noticed the wreath over the door. The wreath now speaks louder to me than the barn. If we really study our images it may be enlightening to see how much is really in the image and what we subconsciously really saw.

I see what you mean about the wreath but that red barn is really shouting out to me. But it does call attention to the wreath.

Yes, it shouts. I hear “RED.” Thanks Ken and have a super weekend.

You’re talking about the wreath, right? Thanks, Steve!

You are “singing my song”. I think that so often we respond to things that don’t register on our conscious mind. Later, in review or during the processing stage, we discover what really drew us to the scene, or what caused us to trip the shutter at that precise second. It is an exciting aspect of image making and why it so important to learn the basics, then get our of our way.

Well said, “It is an exciting aspect of image making and why it so important to learn the basics, then get out of our way.” Thank you again, Anita.
