A great photograph is a distillation, a reduction of the chaos of our wider experience to a visually satisfying essence where what is excluded is as important as what is included.
David Ward – From the book: “Landscape Within”
This image was taken while on a cold morning walk near my condo back in Colorado. We must always be aware of what nature wants to share with us. And, there is nothing wrong with stopping and enjoy what is shared.

True. Silence can be very loud if one lends an ear. Nicely done!

I assume you are one who enjoys the silence of nature.

So, this is today’s color theme (just came from Earl’s site). Amazing isn’t it, how the silence speaks so clearly? No shouting to beat down the babbling inside our head, just soft whispers that invite us to listen. Your photo is an effective reminder to stop and listen.

Yes, it’s the color theme and will be for a few days. I went back in my archives and pulled up a few images of winter and plan on posting them over the next few days. Speaking of snow, it is snowing as we speak. Quietly changing everything around us.

Oh man, this image is a winner, beautiful shot, must be mounted and entered in a contest.

First I have to thaw out my hands! 🙂

What more can be said? Beautiful and peaceful. I like these moments of discovery and it always leads me to wonder how many people just ‘walk on by’.

I think that is common among all of us. Living with a camera in hand has helped me to see the world.
