When I visited with my parents for Thanksgiving I met their next door neighbor, Laura. She’s a hooker. And, she’s good at it. And to be a good hooker (rug maker), as any craft, take years of practice. She’s been at it for several years and when you see her work you will know that. Laura will sit outside, soak up the warm sun and and hook to her little hearts content.

Monte, lol, nice “hook” yourself with that title and play on words. I guess that says something about where my mind went. 🙂
I love the photo and Laura’s rug hooking looks like it is beautifully done! Have a great day!

Yep, the title will pull a few out the woodwork. 🙂 Actually, Laura, showed my sister and I some of her work. Amazing. We also watched her work on the rug pictured above and again, amazing. Stay warm as winter has arrived up here.

Your post brings back memories as my grandmother hooked rugs when I was a kid. If she wasn’t in the kitchen, she was working on a rug!

Good memories are awesome.

No fair, Monte! I hurried over here to read your story. Great title. 🙂 I thought maybe you had had an experience like I did in Akron in the summer.
It’s great to have a hobby that you can relax into and enjoy some sunlight.

Sorry to disappoint you, Paul. And, would enjoy an experience, actually. 🙂

I wondered why you’d been posting less…. 😉

Yes, spending time with my family and not the hooker.
