“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” ― Terry Pratchett
My sister and brother-in-law left Saturday afternoon for their trip to Europe. I am now officially on sabbatical. Hope they have an Awesome time! And, there is no envy on my part. 🙂

Reading back over you last several posts it sounds and looks like you’re having a good time, Monte. Glad to hear it. I like how the contrast of light and dark and the patterns they create are so strong in this photo…wonderful subject for B&W. Nicely done!

Thanks, Brooks. Each time I walk into their kitchen and see this light I want to take another photo, and I do. I’ll post more of this dining area later on. Yes, I’m enjoying this time here.

So, Monte. What exactly are you on sabbatical from? Can one be on sabbatical from retirement/vacation? 🙂
Monte Stevens
Good question, Paul. As the time in retirement moves forward we can find ourselves getting more involved in life rather than work. Therefore a sabbatical fits. When I’m done here, it’s back to retirement. 🙂

Nice! 🙂 I’m sure that you’re doing a great job at both!

Love the crossed shadows and window shades! And like you, I think I’d be taking lots of photos there…I can only imagine how the light changes throughout the day.
Glad to see you are using your time well!

It is a woder full place to watch the light. And, we can even eat there. Life is good! 🙂 Not so sure about good use of time as today was not productive. But, who’s gonna tell the boss. 🙂
