This Mocha Hits the Spot

My car dashboard said 2 degrees. There was not doubt in my mind it was accurate. Never the less I drove over to Rowland Moore Park to look for snow scenes and then find a local coffee shop. I am one who enjoys the beauty of a white wonderland, especially a fresh snowfall, but without the cold temperatures. This storm brought us at least 6 inches of snow here in Fort Collins and the cold temperatures. I understand some of the mountain areas were expecting up 30 inches. That’s good news for farmers and Phoenix and Las Vegas. Right now we have a blue sky trying to make it’s appearance which adds to the beauty. And, this mocha hits the spot!

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

You will have to excuse my ignorance with this next question Monte. Just remember that when we’re talking about the weather being real cold over here, we’re talking about wearing a long sleeve shirt with our shorts, okay? So, here’s my question, with temps around 2°F, shouldn’t the lake be fully frozen over?

We had 3-4 rather nice 40-50 degree days prior to this cold front so some of the pond had thawed, creating the open water. This particular pond is a favorite place for Canada Geese so having a lot of geese on the open water keeps movement of the water and thus the open water. It is frozen over today!
