Unbroken Silence

solitary fence posts
without the meadowlarks song
unbroken silence

ms

Our first forest fire started back in August and every since then I seldom see or hear the meadowlarks singing when visiting the natural areas. I assume they moved farther east onto the plains due to the smoke and ash. And, now that it’s colder we will see less of them. Spent some time journaling about missing their enchanting song this morning.

Retired. Having fun with photography. Journal daily. Meditate daily. Learning haiku/poetry. Have a love for fountain pens.

We’ve been enjoying two pair of Blue Jays hanging around our feeders. Unusual for us but not uncommon for our area. A nice splash of color to offset the red of all the Cardinals.

Love Blue Jays, although they can get pretty rowdy and noisy. I miss those cardinals I had all around me back in Columbus. Sigh! Guess I’ll just have to live with the meadowlarks. 😁
