“Poetry is a life-cherishing force. For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the lost, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry.”
Mary Oliver
My car said it was 43 degrees at 5:18 this morning. Hearing reports that the aspens are putting up some very nice colors in the higher elevations. Awoke early and spent an hour at the natural area this morning in almost complete darkness and silence. Brought along a book of poetry to provide some warmth. Yet, I was still chilled by the time I arrived at the coffee shop. As the fall season moves on I will adjust more to the colder mornings and not be near as chilled. However, I was grateful for warm socks and a mocha latte!

Although I’m looking forward to Fall weather, I admit that I dread having to get out the coats, boots and gloves again. Enjoy your weekend!

If there is a plus with living in a temperate area it is not having a need for seasonal clothing. Not sure that means I’d have half the clothes but I like to think that. Interesting because this morning while holding my coffee cup I thought about the need I have for new winter gloves as mine have holes in them. And, hope you enjoy your weekend, also!

Like Faye, I’m looking forward to cooler weather. We are still in the 70s in the morning, mid-80s in the afternoon. It was a pretty hot and humid summer. I’m starting to see that some of the trees are losing a few of their leaves – cooler mornings on the way, thankfully!
No need for warm socks, just yet – that comes around December or January.

The weather is a fickle. Yesterday morning we awoke to 43 degrees while this morning we were 63 degrees. Golden leaves are falling around me as I write. Yes, on the changing season. I have warm socks on again this morning. Their kool looking!

I read recently where wearing socks to bed – for those with chilly feet – is supposed to help one sleep better. I’m looking forward to trying it!

I’ve only done that camping. It helped! I’m a sock wearing kinda man. Even wear them with sandals when it’s cooler.
