When I finished this last 4-day trip on Saturday evening all I did when I got home was take off my shoes, unpack and go to bed. I slept well, rose early and headed for a coffee shop to enjoy my latte. After catching up on emails and a few blogs I headed to Blendon Woods Park to listen to the birds and take in the all the smells of nature. What a great way to start my day. Wanted to share these daises with all of you. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Monte, that dark, almost black background really make these daises pop. I hope you have a great week as well.

It was interesting as to the steps I took for this one. I almost always meter on average but I was sure not getting the results I wanted on the histogram. So, I switched to spot metering and came up with this image with the darker background. I really liked it much better. I guess my lesson was to experiment more with my tools.

Like this a lot Monte. I pack around a small reflector for both a background or bounce light on the few occasions I plan on shooting flowers. The dark really works well to set off the daisies. Right now we have huge fields of them around here due to the wet start to the summer.

I sometimes carry a reflector and a light panel but today I left with only my camera and tripod. Thanks, for stopping by, Ray. I enjoy it when a few friends who stop by speak up, no matter what their critiquing may say.
