It is a wholesome and necessary thing for us to turn again to the earth and in the contemplation of her beauties to know the sense of wonder and humility.

Almost the end of December and we have not yet had measurable snow in Fort Collins. Thankfully the high country have received snow but it has skipped us. Where’s the snow?

A beautiful photo, Monte. And what good timing to have that bird (hawk?) swoop in at just the right time!
We’re experiencing a bout of weird non-winter weather here as well. Highs in the 70s and going to bed with the AC on. No complaints, though!

Luck plays a big part on many of my images. Pressing the shutter button at the perfect time also helps. This is one of those images that did nothing for me after loading it on my computer. Sure speaks to me now, 10 years later.
It is cold today and will be over the next few days. The mountains are getting snow, which is wonderful. Could see more snow on Friday.

As Tom mentioned, we’re having very mild weather. I’m loving it. I know the cold days will get here eventually but I’m not going out looking for winter. 😄

We are going to see more cold over the next 7-8 days. They are saying Saturdays high will only be 17 degrees. I’ll take some of your warmer weather then. Lows will be in the teens the next two nights. Two pairs of socks and an extra blanket, for sure.

I know where some of the snow is 🙂
Nice quote by Carson. Nearby us is a Rachel Carson Conservation Area that I’ve yet to visit but we’ve passed it a few times.
That’s a beautiful image and I love that you captured the bird in the composition.

That’s right, you and Buddy know where the snow is.
Wow, that Rachel Carson Conservation Area is massive, over 9,00 acres. I would want to explore that area for sure. And, really not too far from you. Could be plenty of photo opportunities there and maybe some quiet and solitude.
