But the silence in the mind
R. S. Thomas
is when we live best, within
listening distance of the silence we call God…
It is a presence, then,
whose margins are our margins;
that calls us out over our
own fathoms.
It seems we have had a winter wonderland to enjoy over the past couple of weeks. The gifts shared by this winter’s season has been in abundance. I have thoroughly enjoy the visual beauty, enough to bear the single digit temperatures and venture out with my camera. This morning, we are at -2 degrees and had a dusting of snow during the night. Stay warm!!

Your recent photos beautifully capture the essence of a Colorado winter wonderland, Monte. I love the snow, but dealing with those subzero temperatures would be quite challenging. While some people interpret silence as emptiness, I see it as a possibility or perhaps a beginning for something new. I find comfort in silence; however, I wonder if the younger generation will struggle with it as they age since many of them seem to fill every moment with some form of input these days. Stay warm my friend!

I agree that silence can be a doorway into something new. I am going with three guys tomorrow evening to see a documentary on the band Led Zeppelin. I will be up later than normal and around a lot more stimulation than I’m used to. I amy be sluggish on Friday. I also agree on the younger generation struggling with silence. I would also include some of our generation in that category. Have a wonderful day!!
