Birds will puff up when they feel threatened and to keep warm. This is one robin of about 5 all sitting in a tree when the temperatures were close to zero degrees (F).

Rising Moon
See yonder fire! It is the moon
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Slow rising o’er the eastern hill.
It glimmers on the forest tips,
And thought the dewy foliage drips
In little rivulets of light,
And makes the heart in love with night. -
Solitary Path
Some natural tears they dropped, but wiped them soon;
John Milton
The world was all before them, where to choose
Their place of rest, and Providence their guide
They hand in hand with wandering steps and slow
Through Eden took their solitary way. -

A Comfortable Chair
I have a comfortable chair in my bedroom where I can read, pray and meditate in quiet. With the busy world around us we need to find those places of quiet. Creating my sanctuary requires I spend the time alone, I’m quiet and not doing anything that busies my mind and I do my best to relax. This is my sanctuary.

What is Candid Portraiture?
I noticed this man as he sat in a coffee shop and watched as he wandered in his thoughts. I reluctantly interrupted to ask permission to take his photo. After asking me why I told him I had a project going where I try to take at least one photo a day. My answer was sufficient as he agreed to let me take his image, wanting to know what to do. I suggested he just relax and be himself. I think he did that very well and think I captured him in his thoughts. Not sure where he was in those thoughts but that is not the essence of the image. He let the camera create the image. Now is this a candid portrait?

Looking Skyward
Photographers are always looking for a different view. We never know what we will find if we look this way instead of that way. This one is a bit different though as I was not out looking for something different. I was actually sitting at poolside in a lounge chair when the clouds moved in and created this work of art. Never hurts to look skyward.

Pruning in Our Lives
Like a tree during the seasons of fall and winter, we need to be pruned of a lot of dead branches before we will be ready to bare good fruit. The winter season has its own way of pruning itself, leaves and fruits dry up and fall to the ground. With the sun and rains of the spring and summer seasons comes the flow of new life to the seemingly dead branches and we begin to see new buds, blossoms, leaves and fruits. So it is in our lives, pruning is a necessity of our lives.
