    Getting in the way

    The Last of Summer

I’m sitting in my hotel room in New Orleans. I was not myself yesterday and did not feel all that well, so I was really tired when we arrived at our hotel last night. After a much needed night of sleep, I awoke to overcast skies, some light rain and 87% humidity. This Colorado boy is not use to having his clothes stick to his body. I enjoyed a quick breakfast and decided to log on my laptop. I haven’t check any blogs for a couple days now and will try and do that next. It may be overwhelming and take a while. We get back home at midnight then I’m back out again tomorrow at 1:00 pm. Ever notice how work seems to keep getting in the way of things?

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this “emotion” is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder, or stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead. His eyes are closed.

    Something Different

We had a short overnight in New Orleans, arriving late and leaving around noon. It is hot and muggy but I managed to get out and take a walk along Veterans Blvd. This walk takes me passed the past the Chez Pierre pastry shop I visited back in June. On that visit I enjoyed the artistry of the baker and sampled one of their works of art. I stopped in again, chatted with the same lady as before and tried something new. Again, I was pleased. I took it back to my hotel room since the shop is just around the corner. It will be my lunch today. 🙂 You know there are simple pleasures in life. I experienced one yesterday morning.

    One more …

Teardrops – Inniswood Gardens, Westerville, Ohio

… well actually two more dewdrops. I found these two hanging on after a night of rain. Just after I took this image the dewdrop in the background fell to the ground. If you look closely in the front dewdrop you can see yours truly, kneeling on the ground with wet and muddy pants. 🙂 There was no way for me to get a sharper image than this as the wind was making the blade of grass sway constantly.

    The Falls

    Niagara Falls

Last week we had a long overnight in Buffalo, New York. We arrived just before midnight but did not have to show until 5:00 PM, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the area. Since none of the four of us had been to Niagara Falls, we did some investigating and discovered a $4.00 bus ride from the airport was available. What a wonderful natural wonder the falls are! Such power and beauty in once place. We walked all over the place and checked out all the different views we could on the American side. If I ever get back up there I will look into the Canadian side. This image was taken near Prospect Point. We avoided all the souvenir shops but did eat lunch at the Top of the Falls restaurant overlooking the falls. Buffalo wings! It made for a nice day trip.
