What you see is real – but only on the particular level to which you’ve developed your sense of seeing. You can expand your reality by developing new ways of perceiving.

Absolutely! The more often I carry my camera with me and the slower my walk, the broader are my ways of perceiving this world. It seems I see much better, as if I’ve been given a new pair of glasses.

Your are so right, Earl, it could pass for drifting sand. Your observation is an example of how wide we do see things. This was taken on a early in the morning where waiting a half hour and the colors would be much warmer.

Your observation of improved vision hits home with me. I have always admired nature and needed to regularly soak in its beauty. But, since I began to carry a camera on a somewhat regular basis, it seems that my vision is keener. Your photgraph succeeds beautifully in illustrating you thoughts.

It is beautiful seeing the light and shadow on the snow like this. I have yet to see snow this year. It’s so beautiful.

Along with the snow comes the cold and wet. Winter scenes are awesome and the quiet of winter is even better. But as I get older I have harder time staying in the cold. I find the chili soup, hot chocolate and fireplace more appealing.
