It was 28 degrees as I stood along the dam at Horestooth Reservoir at 6:54 pm. I had this impulse to drive up there and get in a few night shots of the lights of Fort Collins. Of course the wind decided to blow so any sharp images was impossible and went right through my pants. It is the same location as this self-portrait I made this past summer. I do not have many images like this in my archives and learned a couple of things. I need to wear wind pants next time. 🙂

You know, my friend, I rarely get urges to go up where the wind is blowing when it’s 28 degrees outside! I’ve become, pretty much, a fair weather photographer – seen only between the temps of about 50 – 80. I think that there’s a sticker on me indicating my operating temperature somewhere.
I have been known to brave the cold for special locations, though. 😀

I also consider myself a fair weather photographer but I to will brave it on those few times the intuition whispers. Just wear your wind pants! 🙂

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I find myself out in the cold wondering what the heck I’m doing out there. But if you get a shot like this it’s worth the effort.
