Being Present
Being present is about living where I’m at in my own shoes. I cannot live in the past or future. Being present is being awake. Acceptance. I’ve heard it said, “Reality is only experienced when we live life in the present.” May I live today in the present!

Need to make more mistakes
“If you’re not making mistakes, you might as well hang the camera up.”
Joe McNallyProbably one the last flowers we will see this year as the weather changes and fall approaches. Mornings are cooler as we had 43 degrees at 6:30 am. The temperature swing can be large this time of the year as we are expecting a high of 83 degrees this afternoon. Jacket in the morning and short sleeves by afternoon. Probably need to make more mistakes.

Redd’s Wicked Apple
When I began drinking in the late 60’s we had a handful of beers to choose from: Coors, Hamms, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Budwieser, Michelob and others. That’s not the case now. Go into any liquor store now a days and there are 100’s of different beers to choose from. Someone tried one of these then left it on the curb. Not sure if it was empty but thought this can made for an interesting image.

An Observation
There seems to be a correlation between the increase in my age and a decrease in sunrise images and increase of sunsets images. Now at Momo Lolos coffeehouse and listening to a pianist and flutist duet. Love the change from the piped music we find most of the time.
Family and community are an essential part of my life as well as my solitude. There are some who avoid solitude, finding it uncomfortable. And, there are some who avoid communities, finding it uncomfortable. I need both. Community and fellowship helps me to appreciate the solitude and quiet. While the solitude and quiet help me appreciate community.

Reflecting back over my life I see a pattern where I’ve lived much of my life seeking to fill some void. I’m now aware this void is more of a spiritual hunger. It’s not a religious hunger, although I looked there. Maybe this assumed void has really been some subconscious spiritual part of me calling from within. It’s a new way of thinking and living in my life and sharing a bit of that with you.
